Clear Channel Outdoor's New Digital Billboard Provides Local Businesses a Dynamic Way to Reach Millions of Seattle Consumers
State-of-the Art Digital Advertising Technology Benefits Seattle Area Advertisers and the City of Tukwila
Seattle, WA -- January 22, 2013 – Clear Channel Outdoor Seattle/Tacoma today announced the launch of its new digital billboard in the City of Tukwila. This new digital sign provides Seattle area advertisers with a dynamic channel to reach over 110,000 residents and visitors to the Seattle area each week.
The newest digital billboard in the Seattle marketplace is located on the northeast corner of the West Valley Highway and SW 43rd Street intersection, at the entrance to Southcenter Westfield Mall. The billboard is located in the region’s largest shopping district and the epicenter of its retail activity in the south Seattle suburbs.
“Clear Channel Outdoor is committed to enabling Seattle area businesses to more easily connect their brands, products and services with customers,” said Pam Guinn, Clear Channel Outdoor’s Seattle/Tacoma President. “The new digital billboard at Southcenter is an excellent example of how we worked with the City of Tukwila to utilize city land in a way to help local business and the city communicate critical information to the people of Seattle.”
The power of this digital sign is being leveraged this week alone by Seattle businesses including Wally Park, Korum Automotive, Valley Medical and Fiat of Seattle/Southcenter. The flexibility of digital billboard design allows for the easy adjustment of creative and messaging, allowing businesses the ability to nimbly adapt their campaigns to consumer needs and marketplace developments. This unique capability is unique in advertising and enables businesses to announce new products offerings and promote limited-time specials in real time.
The advent of the new digital sign is due in part to a public/private partnership with the City of Tukwila. As a result of this agreement, the city will be able to use the new digital sign to post community messages and public safety alerts as needed. These messages can help the community during serious weather situations or disasters such as an earthquake, as well as support law enforcement through Amber Alerts or FBI Wanted messages. In addition, the digital sign is located on city-owned property, which means the City of Tukwila will receive revenue for use of this land by Clear Channel Outdoor.
