New Long-form Show Launches Today on iHeartRadio and will Air on Alt-Rock Radio Stations This Weekend Featuring Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda As First Guest

NEW YORK -- June 12, 2018 -- iHeartMedia, the leading media company in America with a greater reach in the U.S. than any other media outlet, today launched iHeartRadio Presents: Inside the Studio, a new original podcast series that features intimate conversations with music’s biggest stars. The podcast airs its first episode today with guest Mike Shinoda of American rock band Linkin Park. Inside the Studio will also air this weekend on iHeartMedia Alt-Rock broadcast radio stations across the country.

Each month, the series will feature a new, unscripted sit-down interview with an artist on the verge of releasing new material, embarking on a tour or celebrating an important milestone — rounded out with a sound-rich tour through their lives and discographies. Taking advantage of podcasting’s lean-in approach, Inside the Studio reveals previously unseen sides of artists, giving fans the intimate access that is missing from much of today’s music news. In the first episode, Mike Shinoda opens up about music after the loss of Chester Bennington and shares never-before heard clips of songs from his upcoming solo album, Post Traumatic, which will be released on June 15, 2018.

“iHeartRadio is known for its relationships with the biggest musical acts on the planet. With this podcast, we’re taking those relationships to an even deeper, more personal level,” said Chris Peterson, Senior Vice President of Podcasting for iHeartMedia. “The conversations on Inside the Studio will make fans feel like they’re in the room with their favorite artists as they talk openly about their lives and their music. It’s intimate and it’s real, and we couldn’t be prouder to introduce this series to fans everywhere.”

Inside the Studio is written and hosted by Joe Levy, a contributing editor at Rolling Stone and correspondent for Access Hollywood who also makes frequent appearances on The Today Show and CBS This Morning. The podcast is produced by iHeartRadio and Audiation.

“I’m thrilled be a part of iHeartRadio’s newest project, which tears down the walls between artists and fans,” said Levy. “Speaking with these musicians one-on-one is a dream for listeners, and for me. I want to have a candid, in-depth dialogue about our guests’ music and their lives. Podcasts are personal, which is why they’re the perfect format for these interviews.”
