Eva Longoria Expands Partnership with iHeartMedia’s My Cultura Podcast Network, as Hyphenate Media Group Becomes Stakeholder

Longoria and Hyphenate to Executive Produce New Slate of Original Podcasts

NEW YORK – June 16, 2025 – My Cultura, iHeartMedia’s podcast network dedicated to elevating Latino voices and stories, today announced a major expansion of its collaboration with award-winning actress, producer, director and philanthropist Eva Longoria. Hyphenate Media Group—the studio she co-founded in partnership with industry leader Cris Abrego, who serves as the group’s CEO—has acquired an equity share in My Cultura and will also be represented on its Board of Advisors. As part of the new deal, Hyphenate and Longoria will executive produce a slate of new original podcasts with iHeartMedia’s My Cultura.

The upcoming lineup will include the continuation of Longoria’s flagship podcast, “Hungry for History,” which she hosts alongside culinary historian Maite Gomez Rejón. More information on upcoming shows will be available soon.

This new partnership arrives as My Cultura marks its fourth anniversary. Since its launch in May 2021—in collaboration with Enrique Santos, iHeartMedia’s top-rated on-air personality and President and Chief Creative Officer of iHeartLatino—the network has seen steady growth with downloads up 48 percent and listeners up 59 percent year-over-year. Longoria and Hyphenate join actor, producer, entrepreneur and activist Wilmer Valderrama (NCIS, Encanto, That ‘70s Show), who in September 2024 expanded his role and became a stakeholder of My Cultura.  

The growth rate for Hispanic Americans listening to podcasts monthly is nearly three times faster than the U.S. population, with 43 percent of Hispanic Americans listening to podcast monthly, up 79 percent vs. 5 years ago according to Edison Research.

iHeartPodcasts Announces Two-Part Podcast “San Diego FC: Behind the Flow” Following the Beginnings and High Hopes of New Team San Diego FC

NEW YORK – June 12, 2025 – iHeartPodcasts, the No. 1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, today announced “San Diego FC: Behind the Flow,” a new podcast co-produced by COPA90 and Message Heard. The podcast follows the creation of Major League Soccer’s (MLS) new expansion team as they prepared for their first season. The show, hosted by sports personality Adrian Garcia Marquez, will launch on June 19 with new episodes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“San Diego FC: Behind the Flow” will debut as a 10-episode documentary podcast giving an inside look at what it takes to establish a major sports team in a competitive market. Following the documentary episodes, the podcast will transition to a sports talk show covering the remainder of SDFC’s inaugural MLS season.

Camp Shane – one of America’s longest running weight loss camps for kids – promised extraordinary results: Come in fat and leave skinny. In a society obsessed with being thin, it seemed like the perfect solution.

But there were some dark truths behind Camp Shane’s facade of happy, transformed children. Podcast host, Kelsey Snelling, was a counselor at Camp Shane and quickly knew something wasn’t quite right. Kids were being pushed to their physical and emotional limits, and the family that owned Shane turned a blind eye. They were caught in a decades-long rivalry for power which allowed abuse to run rampant—including everything from theft, to lawsuits, to disinheritance, to gross negligence. 

Fourteen years later, Kelsey is bringing the camp’s story to light. Over the course of the series, she unpacks and investigates these stories of mistreatment, reexamining the culture of fatphobia that enabled a flawed system to continue for so long. 

“My goal is to access and educate listeners who may or may not have an inherent interest in dismantling our shame-fueled culture,” said Snelling. “And, to do so through the absolutely unhinged telling of the rise and fall of America's favorite fat camp.”

Building on the success of its debut season focused on the life of Layleen Polanco, an Afro-Latina transgender woman who died in a New York jail, “Afterlives” season two will center on powerful stories and crucible moments from the life of cultural icon Marsha P. Johnson. While Johnson is the primary focus of the series, listeners will also hear the microphone turn inward, with host Raquel Willis examining her own evolving relationship with LGBTQ history. Through rich storytelling, unreleased audio and in - depth interviews, the documentary - style podcast will share Johnson’s story in a new, innovative way, while highlighting the past, present and future of the fight for equality and liberation.

The new season will feature an impressive lineup of guests including prominent LGBTQ advocates Miss Major and Randy Wicker, Marsha’s former roommate who organized America’s first gay rights demonstration. The show will also feature commentary from contemporary leaders such as artist and author Tourmaline, Marsha’s biographer; and Ceyenne Doroshow, Founder of Gays and Lesbians Living in a Transgender Society, or G.L.I.T.S, a nonprofit organization based in New York. In addition to BIG3 games streamed live on iHeartRadio, the deal includes a cross-marketing collaboration of both brands throughout the BIG3 season with promotion nationally across iHeartMedia’s multiple platforms including broadcast radio, podcast digital, social and live events, with a heavy focus in “game” markets including Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Dallas and others. iHeartMedia will receive the official national jersey patch on all eight of the league’s new city-based teams, premium sponsorship elements such as high-visibility logo placement on the court and in-arena, featured radio and podcast appearances by BIG3 personalities, VIP hospitality experiences, exclusive contesting, giveaways, and other elements.

This announcement follows the 2025 BIG3 Draft in Las Vegas, where the eight all-new city-based BIG3 franchises finalized their five-man rosters. The players drafted earlier this month round out the most physical and competitive BIG3 talent class ever, including First Ballot Hall-of-Famer Dwight Howard, 4X NBA All-Star Kemba Walker, Born Ready Lance Stephenson, NBA Sixth Man of the Year Montrezl Harrell, and 2010 fourth overall pick Wes Johnson.
