iHeartPodcasts, the No. 1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, and Glass Podcasts, a division of award-winning Glass Entertainment Group, today announced the second season of the hit podcast series “Betrayal” set to debut in the spring of 2023. Additionally, the two companies have also signed a slate deal for new true-crime titles, including “Burden of Guilt” and “Last Seen on South Street.”

The story of a picture-perfect fairytale marriage gone horribly wrong, the first season of “Betrayal” quickly skyrocketed to the No. 1 podcast in America across all major platforms and amassed more than eight million downloads to date since its release this past April. Following its enormous success, “Betrayal” is being adapted into a TV docuseries for a premium streamer.

Premiering in the first half of 2023, host Andrea Gunning returns for Season Two of “Betrayal,” which will focus on a mother’s fight to find justice for her daughter and protection from a predator too close to home. Ashley Lytton was a typical suburban Utah wife and mom of three until she discovered her husband’s horrifying secret. It was a shocking crime that would alter her life and jeopardize the safety of her children.

Plus, on the heels of the “Betrayal” season two greenlight, Glass Podcasts and iHeartPodcasts will roll out a slate of stranger-than-fiction series that are sure to enthrall the most die-hard true-crime fans, including:

  • Burden of Guilt,” a harrowing story of a woman who has spent the last four decades of her life at the center of one of the most bizarre and disturbing criminal cases in American history. She grew up believing that she was responsible for the brutal death of her infant brother, only later did she discover that she had been framed for his murder by her own parents. One of them was the real killer. This series will follow her as she fights for justice in the name of her baby brother.
  • Last Seen on South Street,” a serialized investigative podcast that examines the case of a couple from Philadelphia who went missing nearly two decades ago. Unlike most cases, there is not a single piece of physical evidence connected to the crime. The FBI believes it is a case of foul play. With unprecedented access with law enforcement, the podcast team will attempt to find out what really happened on South Street that fateful night.

Nancy Glass, Andrea Gunning, Ben Fetterman and Carrie Hartman will executive produce “Betrayal” for Glass Podcasts while Ali Perry will serve as the executive producer for iHeartPodcasts. Glass Podcasts is overseen by Andrea Gunning, Head of Podcast Production and Development; and Ben Fetterman, Head of Podcast Strategy, at Glass Podcasts.

It's been an incredible period of growth for Glass Podcasts. Their programs have reached an audience of more than 25 million listeners. Glass Podcasts have also seen multiple series set up for unscripted adaptations and various networks and studios. The company plans to release another six to eight audio properties in the coming year.

“Betrayal” and the new slate of true crime shows will be distributed by iHeartPodcasts. All titles will be available on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.

In the days that followed Spencer’s arrest, Jenifer learned that her husband had been living a dark, secret life. He had more than 60 affairs during their seven years together.
