iHeartPodcasts and School of Humans To Explore Infamous Hollywood Sex Club in New Podcast “Sanctum Unmasked"

New series reveals the story of Damon Lawner and his journey founding SNCTM, the “most elite sex party in the world"

Listen to Episode 1 HERE

WHAT: iHeartPodcasts and School of Humans today debut “Sanctum Unmasked,” a new 8-part podcast series that explores the secretive sex empire known as SNCTM.

In 2013, Damon Lawner founded what became known as the most elite sex club in the world. He called it SNCTM. When he conceived of the club, he was a million dollars in debt, struggling to keep his family afloat. And just a few years later, people were paying him hundreds of thousands of dollars to get into his exclusive, debaucherous masquerade parties.

“Sanctum Unmasked” is a podcast that follows that journey. It takes a nuanced, fun and comedic look into money, power and sex, set in the backdrop of Hollywood. Along the way, we dive into Damon’s own personal exploration of sexuality and taboo — one that reflected the experiences of his guests and performers — and how it would ultimately turn his life upside down.

What really happens when you shed societal expectations and unapologetically pursue personal sexual freedom?

WHO: “Sanctum Unmasked” is hosted by American writer, television host and producer Karley Sciortino. Sciortino is the founder of Slutever, a website that focuses on sex and sexuality, and executive producer and host of the Viceland documentary series of the same name. Sciortino also writes Vogue's online sex and relationships column, Breathless. “Sanctum Unmasked” is distributed by iHeartPodcasts.

WHERE: Listen to “Sanctum Unmasked” on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.

iHeartPodcasts and Glass Podcasts Announce Second Season of Hit Series “Betrayal” and Team Up for New Slate of True Crime Shows

iHeartPodcasts, the No. 1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, and Glass Podcasts, a division of award-winning Glass Entertainment Group, today announced the second season of the hit podcast series “Betrayal” set to debut in the spring of 2023. Additionally, the two companies have also signed a slate deal for new true-crime titles, including “Burden of Guilt” and “Last Seen on South Street.”

The story of a picture-perfect fairytale marriage gone horribly wrong, the first season of “Betrayal” quickly skyrocketed to the No. 1 podcast in America across all major platforms and amassed more than eight million downloads to date since its release this past April. Following its enormous success, “Betrayal” is being adapted into a TV docuseries for a premium streamer.

Premiering in the first half of 2023, host Andrea Gunning returns for Season Two of “Betrayal,” which will focus on a mother’s fight to find justice for her daughter and protection from a predator too close to home. Ashley Lytton was a typical suburban Utah wife and mom of three until she discovered her husband’s horrifying secret. It was a shocking crime that would alter her life and jeopardize the safety of her children.

Plus, on the heels of the “Betrayal” season two greenlight, Glass Podcasts and iHeartPodcasts will roll out a slate of stranger-than-fiction series that are sure to enthrall the most die-hard true-crime fans, including:

  • Burden of Guilt,” a harrowing story of a woman who has spent the last four decades of her life at the center of one of the most bizarre and disturbing criminal cases in American history. She grew up believing that she was responsible for the brutal death of her infant brother, only later did she discover that she had been framed for his murder by her own parents. One of them was the real killer. This series will follow her as she fights for justice in the name of her baby brother.
  • Last Seen on South Street,” a serialized investigative podcast that examines the case of a couple from Philadelphia who went missing nearly two decades ago. Unlike most cases, there is not a single piece of physical evidence connected to the crime. The FBI believes it is a case of foul play. With unprecedented access with law enforcement, the podcast team will attempt to find out what really happened on South Street that fateful night.

Nancy Glass, Andrea Gunning, Ben Fetterman and Carrie Hartman will executive produce “Betrayal” for Glass Podcasts while Ali Perry will serve as the executive producer for iHeartPodcasts. Glass Podcasts is overseen by Andrea Gunning, Head of Podcast Production and Development; and Ben Fetterman, Head of Podcast Strategy, at Glass Podcasts.

It's been an incredible period of growth for Glass Podcasts. Their programs have reached an audience of more than 25 million listeners. Glass Podcasts have also seen multiple series set up for unscripted adaptations and various networks and studios. The company plans to release another six to eight audio properties in the coming year.

“Betrayal” and the new slate of true crime shows will be distributed by iHeartPodcasts. All titles will be available on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.

About Betrayal Season One:
“Betrayal” is a story of a real-life fairytale gone horribly wrong. It’s a cautionary tale about a marriage so filled with betrayal and deceit, many people are still recovering from its path of destruction. After 20 years apart, Jenifer Faison reconnected with her college sweetheart, Spencer Herron. He was a two-time Teacher of the Year. On June 1, 2018, Jenifer came home to find her door kicked in by the police and her husband sitting on the couch saying, “It’s over.” He had sexually assaulted one of his students. In the days that followed Spencer’s arrest, Jenifer learned that her husband had been living a dark, secret life. He had more than 60 affairs during their seven years together. His actions shook a community, devastated his wife and sent Spencer Herron to prison. Climbing out of the devastation would be a journey Jen could never have imagined.

iHeartMedia Launches the B2B Podcast Network for Advertisers and Marketers

Podcasts by and for Marketing Executives Provide Access to Industry Influencers

NEW YORK – April 19, 2023 – iHeartMedia, the No. 1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, today unveiled a new B2B (business to business) Podcast Network created for and hosted by advertising and marketing industry leaders. The first “marketer to marketer” audio network of its kind, gathers leading marketing and advertising podcasts under one umbrella, keeping media executives up to date with industry trends, and making it easier for brands to use audio to reach the largest addressable audience of media executives in audio.

Podcasts have become one of the fastest-growing mediums, reaching over half of the US population every month. Beyond delivering mass reach, podcasts are now an effective vehicle for targeting specialized audiences. Marketers and business decision makers are among the most passionate podcast listeners, who over-index as consumers spending a third of their time with streaming audio. Recent studies confirmed: more than three-quarters (77%) of advertisers are listening to podcasts on a regular basis; 80% of people listen to all or most of every podcast episode they start; Gen Z listens to podcasts to be entertained, millennials listen to be better at their jobs and increase productivity; and 56% of listeners say that hearing an ad on a podcast compared to other places makes them more likely to purchase a product.

iHeartMedia’s B2B Podcast Network is designed to answer the rapidly growing need amongst marketers for timely, topical, useful and entertaining insights that help markets excel. The optimized suite of shows powers brands with an effective way to engage with key decision-makers and cultivate new revenue-driving partnerships.

“We know that marketers are hot on podcasts with the majority planning on increasing their advertising spend in audio this year. While marketers are spending more, they’re also listening for longer, which is why we wanted to create a network of podcasts specifically for their industry with content that inspires and educates," said Conal Byrne, CEO of iHeartMedia Digital Audio Group. “iHeartMedia’s B2B Podcast Network brings this highly strategic audience into focus and provides the platform brands need to access them authentically.”

Hosted by a range of the most interesting, proactive, diverse marketing thought leaders in the industry, B2B podcasts within the network include:

  • “The Future Legends of Advertising Podcast: Marketing All-Stars in Riveting Conversation”– From the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the “unifying voice for advertising”, and co-produced by iHeartMedia and Known, this popular podcast series is hosted by marketing luminaries, Ross Martin, president of Known, and Hayley Romer, former Chief Revenue Officer and Publisher at The Atlantic. The first season included toe-to-toe conversations with AAF Hall of Fame and Hall of Achievement inductees such as: Bozoma Saint John, Antonio Lucio, Louis Carr, Bing Chen and more. Listen Here.

In addition to playing bass for the Grammy-nominated band, The Avett Brothers, Bob Crawford recently obtained his Master of Arts in History. He has spent countless hours reading history books in tour buses throughout the country and feels that John Quincy Adams deserves a second look.

“John Quincy Adams is THE most important historical figure that no one knows about,” says Crawford. “He is the bridge between Washington and Lincoln. I congratulate Bob and his team for sharing a story that is impactful, engaging, educational and also hugely entertaining. It is history at its best.”
