It has also played a major role in hip-hop in the past 50 years.  Angela Yee will welcome celebrity stylist Jay Christopher to the block party to discuss some of the most iconic and influential hair looks of the past five decades of hip-hop and explore how some of those looks are relevant today.

There are endless stories about the icon's first time spittin' in the studio, or even their first time as a guest. • Flip The Script: Big Boy’s Neighborhood: Big Boy's Neighborhood has been a trusted voice in Hip Hop for decades. Big Boy will reminisce on iconic hip-hop moments, breaking news on radio and reflect on the impact his show has had on Black and hip-hop culture.
  • FundaMENTAL Bars: Many hip-hop artists are breaking down the stigma around mental health. Charlamagne tha God will sit with Elliot Connie to talk about how hip-hop started as an authentic Black voice and how it has evolved over the last 50 years and is now on a path of healing. Charlamagne and Elliot will celebrate a few lyrics from hip-hop’s greatest and talk about its relevance in today’s culture.

The Living Black! event continues the celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. Throughout this year, iHeartRadio has created memorial moments across its platforms and live events including custom audio tributes with top recording artists sharing why they fell in love with hip-hop. Artists who participated in those include Diddy, Ice Cube, French Montana, 50 Cent, Latto, DJ Khalid, Ice T, LL COOL J, Busta Rhymes and more. Additionally, during the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards, LL COOL J delivered a special performance as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.

Launching June 28, the nine-part weekly series features an all-star cast including Maya Hawke, William H. Macy, Laura Benanti, Garrett Hedlund, Abigail Breslin, Felicity Huffman among others

Listen to the trailer HERE

NEW YORK – June 21, 2023 – iHeartMedia, the No. 1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, announced today the launch of new original iHeartPodcast,"Supreme: The Battle for Roe," a captivating scripted podcast that delves into the inspiring true story of the historic Roe v. Wade case. This nine-part series follows the journey of Sarah Weddington, the youngest woman ever to argue a case in the Supreme Court. Created and written by Aaron Tracy, directed by Rachel Winter, and produced by Ben Spector, Rachel Winter, Aaron Tracy and Eva Longoria, this compelling production brings to life the extraordinary tale of a 26-year-old attorney, Sarah Weddington, as she steps into a courtroom and argues the defining case of her era. Fans can listen to the official trailer now HERE

“Before Roe V. Wade, Sarah Weddington had never worked on a contested case or even been inside a courtroom. Harry Blackmun had never authored a major opinion. They were both new, untested, and the least likely vehicles for the abortion controversy you can imagine. But their collision at the Supreme Court ended up defining their entire lives, and changed the course of history. The moment I stumbled onto the story, I was desperate to write it. I'm thrilled it's now come to life with such brilliant collaborators and I can't wait for people to hear this incredible story on iHeart,” said Aaron Tracy, the Creator of the series.

"'Supreme’ has brought together an incredible ensemble cast of accomplished actors from television, film and stage, and from multiple generations,” said director Rachel Winter, Academy Award-nominated producer of ‘Dallas Buyers Club.’ “These actors boarded the project based on the subject matter and Aaron’s compelling and wholly entertaining script. iHeart listeners will be both informed and entertained throughout the nine episodes.”

One year after the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Supreme will bring Sarah’s story to life for a new generation in a vivid, immersive audio drama led by a cast of celebrated actors including Maya Hawke (Sarah Weddington), William H. Macy (Justice Harry Blackmun), Abigail Breslin (Linda Coffee), Andrea Savage (Deb Margulies), Felicity Huffman (Dottie Blackmun), Laura Benanti (Bea Cuttriss), Garrett Hedlund (Ron Weddington), Josh Hamilton (Reverend Herbert Ragle), Luke Kirby (Roy Lucas) and William Fichtner (Chief Justice Warren Burger).

“I am honored to be a part of this project, alongside such a talented cast and creative team, to share Sarah Weddington’s story of remarkable courage and determination,” said Maya Hawke. “This podcast will shed light on an important, but largely unknown figure in history, and bring her inspiring legacy to life for a new generation”

"We are proud to present 'Supreme: The Battle for Roe' as our latest original series,” said Will Pearson, President of iHeartPodcasts.  “It’s a gripping and inspiring story, coupled with an exceptional cast and creative team, and is a testament to the power of storytelling and the impact it can have on shaping our understanding of pivotal moments in history. It showcases our commitment to delivering top-quality, thought-provoking content to our listeners and we look forward to sharing it with our audiences everywhere.”

New Season of the Hit iHeartPodcast ‘Alphabet Boys’ Goes Inside an International Arms-Trafficking Case

The second season, “Up in Arms,” is a 10-episode narrative reported and hosted by journalist Trevor Aaronson

Season Two Available June 26 - Binge Season One Now Here

LOS ANGELES -- The second season of “Alphabet Boys,” an investigative podcast series from Western Sound and iHeartPodcasts, reveals an international arms-trafficking conspiracy that wraps up the DEA, the CIA, and the FBI in a single case. Listen to the official audio trailer now HERE.

Reported and hosted by investigative journalist Trevor Aaronson, “Alphabet Boys” is a multi-season narrative podcast that brings listeners inside the world of America’s alphabet agencies, such as the FBI, CIA, DEA, and ATF. The podcast dives into cases that raise a common question: Are federal agents and their informants catching bad guys or creating them?

Drawing from hours of undercover recordings and hundreds of pages of internal U.S. government reports, “Alphabet Boys: Up in Arms” tells the story of how Romanian-American businessman Flaviu Georgescu was approached by a Colombian revolutionary interested in purchasing millions of dollars in military-grade weapons. Georgescu, a longtime cooperator with the FBI, called the CIA to report the arms deal. There was just one problem: Georgescu was under investigation by the DEA, whose agents didn’t know about his call to the CIA.

Told as a single narrative over 10 episodes, “Alphabet Boys: Up in Arms” is a spy thriller that reveals how aggressive federal law enforcement agents can find themselves investigating the assets of other federal agencies — creating an alphabet soup in which it’s hard to determine who’s the good guy and who’s the bad guy.

“Season two of ‘Alphabet Boys’ goes behind the scenes of a border-hopping arms-trafficking conspiracy involving a mysterious international businessman, a government minister in Romania, an Italian politician, and revolutionaries with the FARC in Colombia,” Aaronson says. “It’s a high-wire act that mixes up in the DEA, the FBI, and the CIA in a case that is as intriguing as it is absurd.”

“‘Alphabet Boys: Up in Arms’ is a total mindbender,” says Western Sound founder and “Alphabet Boys” co-creator Ben Adair. “Trevor’s reporting shows how federal law enforcement seems to take its cues much more from Reno 911! than any Hollywood spy thriller or police procedural. And yet, their misfiring jokes and gross incompetence have real-world consequences for anyone caught up in their comedy of errors.”

Season one, “Alphabet Boys: Trojan Hearse,” revealed how the FBI infiltrated and undermined the racial justice movement during the summer of 2020. The show received significant attention in the national news media, with The Guardian, The Daily Beast, and Democracy Now!, among others, praising the reporting in the show. Democratic Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon called the FBI’s behavior documented in the show “outrageous.”

Season two premieres June 26, with new episodes launching every Monday and Thursday through July 27.

Alphabet Boys” is distributed by iHeartPodcasts and will be available on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.

NEW YORK, N.Y. – June 15, 2023 – iHeartMedia, the No.1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, and Will Packer Media, a first-of-its-kind production and branded content company led by record-breaking Hollywood producer Will Packer, today announced the debut of the new iHeartPodcast “IDEA GENERATION’S All Angles.” The show will debut on June 22, with new episodes airing weekly on Thursdays. Listeners can tune in to the official trailer here.

“IDEA GENERATION’S All Angles” is a twelve-episode co-produced series highlighting brands from the fashion, food, media, and music industries that have helped shape and define today’s culture. Hosted by Noah Callahan-Bever, former Complex Chief Content Officer and founder of IDEA GENERATION – an independent media brand dedicated to the education and inspiration of tomorrow’s creative entrepreneurs – the unscripted series steps behind the curtain and talks with a variety of company leaders to uncover the crucial role that team chemistry has played in the making of the most popular culture-creating brands today.

On each episode, the show will feature an oral history format that weaves together a bevy of insider voices culminating in a 360-degree narrative that tells the story of each brand. Utilizing the voices of key players and teammates, the show will discuss the ins and outs that helped take the company from an idea to an empire. In the two-part debut, Noah will chat with entrepreneur Steve Rifkind, founder of Loud Records—the 90’s hip-hop record label responsible for developing acts like Wu-Tang Clan, Mobb Deep, and Big Pun—as well as his co-founder, Rich Issacson, legendary artist and repertoire (A&R) representatives Matt Life and Sean C, and Mobb Deep's Havoc.

“This new podcast with Noah will give listeners the opportunity to hear never-before-told stories about the trials and tribulations of transforming a brand,” said Will Pearson, President of iHeartPodcasts. “In today’s world, we’re seeing more and more aspiring entrepreneurs looking for their breakthroughs, and this podcast gives listeners a behind-the-scenes look into what goes into making a successful brand and how the people surrounding you can help champion your ideas.

“There is a greater intensity in interest around not just the ‘who’ but the in-depth answers to the ‘why,’ ‘how’ and ‘when’ of American success stories,” said Will Packer, CEO Will Packer Media. This podcast gives listeners that specificity they crave.”

"Since the days of Henry Ford and Walt Disney the founder myth has been a foundational part of how the media has framed success in business," said Callahan-Bever. "But creating a great brand takes more than just one person's ideas or efforts—they're born out of the confluence of a founder's vision and the executional and operational expertise of their partners. And along the way there's going to be both collaboration and conflict, steel sharpening steel, and from that process excellence can be achieved. Our goal with All Angles was to capture that magic, and show aspiring entrepreneurs that there are so many crucial roles and crucial steps—and sometimes even crucial fights—that have to happen to build a culture defining brand."

“All Angles” joins iHeartMedia and Will Packer Media’s iHeartPodcast slate deal, which includes original scripted and unscripted shows. The partnership includes the two recent seasons of the dark comedy, “The Lower Bottoms,” which will be followed by “All Angles.”  The show will be executive produced by Will Packer for Will Packer Media; Joelle Smith for iHeartPodcasts; and Tricia Clarke-Stone, Helena Ochs and John Walaszek for IDEA GENERATION. Alix Baudin, President of Will Packer Media oversees the partnership with iHeartMedia.

IDEA GENERATION’S All Angles” is distributed by iHeartPodcasts and will be available on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.
