“The honor is all mine to present the third annual Elton John Impact Award to the extraordinary Billy Porter,” said Elton John. “His achievements go beyond winning an Emmy, Grammy, and Tony; Billy embodies authenticity, tirelessly using his platform to dismantle harmful stigmas. Whether it’s on TV screens or radio airwaves, Billy infuses every project with powerful LGBTQ+ representation, making a profound and lasting impact on audiences around the world. For these reasons and more, he is truly deserving of this honor. Thank you for being your authentic, trailblazing self, Billy!”

The event celebrated the trailblazers creating positive change across different areas of society while providing much needed visibility and funding for six LGBTQ+ organizations – CenterLink, GLAAD, National Black Justice Coalition, Outright International, The Trevor Project and SAGE –  to continue the transformative work they are accomplishing in support of the LGBTQ+ community. Now in its fifth year, the event has raised more than $17 million for those organizations and celebrated the profound impact of music, a unifying force that can drive society toward more equality and acceptance for all.

The benefit special included these special moments:

  • Meghan Trainor and Gay Mens’ Chorus of Los Angeles opens the show with a performance of her new song “I Wanna Thank Me” and her hit “All About That Bass.”

Can’t Cancel Pride and Paris Hilton funded and redesigned the main dressing and laundry facilities, designed by Bobby Berk, including much needed new washing and drying machines, a supply of Tide and Downy donated by P&G, a complete renovation of the space, and clothes donated by IHL Group, Fabletics, and other brands in the closet.

iHeartMedia and Will Ferrell’s Big Money Players Network Launch Gripping New Podcast “#1 Dad” Hosted by Comedian Gary Vider

Premiering today, June 10, the 10-episode limited series will explore Vider’s complex upbringing with his real life con-man father, as he unravels the astonishing truth about his illusive life 24 years later

LISTEN TO THE FIRST TWO EPISODES NOW

WHAT: As kids, most of us look up to our Dads. A Dad should be a positive role model who shows us the value of hard work. Dads are supposed to teach us the difference between right and wrong. But that’s not the story we’re telling here. This is the story of Gary Vider, a successful stand-up comedian, who grew up with a Dad unlike any other. Manny Vider was a con man, who’s schemes and lies span over 4 decades. It’s been 24 years since Gary has seen his father and he doesn’t have a clue what he’s up to these days. But Gary is ready to open Pandora’s Box and take listeners on a deeply personal and comedic journey to uncover the outrageous truth about his Dad before he attempts to meet him face to face. Does Manny regret his con man life? Is he finally on the straight and narrow? Or is he still wearing a fake neck brace, forging documents, and creating sham businesses to scam anyone who will take the bait? Welcome to the hilarious and heartfelt true story of Gary Vider and his #1 Dad.

WHO: Host Gary Vider is a New York City based comedian who has made a name for himself in the national comedy scene. Gary’s stand-up special “It Could Be Worse” recently premiered on his YouTube channel. His subtle style of humor took him all the way to the finals on season 10 of America’s Got Talent. His dry delivery has also earned him TV appearances on CONAN and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. His jokes have been published in the New York Times and Time Out NY Magazine. He was named a "Comic to Watch" by Esquire and was the winner of the 2014 Carolines on Broadway March Madness competition where he beat out 63 of the best young comedians. In early 2020, Gary released his debut comedy album, ‘Vider Las Vegas’.

“#1 Dad” is a new limited series from iHeartMedia, Will Ferrell’s Big Money Player Network, and Radio Point with executive producers Adam Lowitt, Alex Bach, Daniel Powell, and Houston Snyder with Bernie Kaminski as producer. Brian Stern and Kenneth Slotnick of AGI Entertainment Media & Management also executive produce.

iHeartMedia's Outspoken Podcast Network and Ninth Planet Audio’s New Narrative Podcast “Does This Murder Make Me Look Gay?!” Premieres June 17

Created By Ted Malawer, The Podcast Stars Michael Urie, Frankie Grande, Douglas Sills, Kate McKinnon And More

Listen to the trailer now, HERE

LOS ANGELES – June 10, 2024 – Ninth Planet Audio, an innovative podcast production company under Mosaic Media, proudly announces the premiere of its new audio fiction series, "Does This Murder Make Me Look Gay?!" on June 17, 2024, in collaboration with iHeartMedia’s Outspoken Podcast Network. Created by Ted Malawer, co-writer of Amazon Prime Video’s No. 1 worldwide hit, RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE, this premium podcast will release new episodes weekly starting Monday, June 17, 2024. Listen to the official audio trailer now, HERE.

As part of a two-year first-look deal between Ninth Planet Audio and iHeartMedia, this premium narrative podcast brings together a star-studded cast of queer talent (and queer icons) just in time for Pride Month including Michael Urie, Frankie Grande, Douglas Sills, Cheyenne Jackson, Jonathan Freeman, Brad Oscar, Robin de Jesús, Lea DeLaria, Sean Patrick Doyle, Seth Rudetsky, Lea Salonga, and Kate McKinnon, among others.

"Does This Murder Make Me Look Gay?!" chronicles the gay life—and even gayer death—of Vandy Monroe III, a D-list movie director who invites his BFFs (aka his mortal enemies) to his ivy-covered mansion in the country. But his weekend goes awry when…he ends up slaughtered. Even worse, a snowstorm cuts off power and access—leaving everyone stranded until the roads can be cleared. Which is when the body count starts to rise.

Who’s killing all the queers?!?! The puerile porn star? The demented designer? What about the heir to the Raymour & Flanigan empire? It’s up to James Wilson, struggling mystery writer and trusted caretaker of Vandy’s estate, to figure out the killer’s identity before he—or she, or they—strike again!

Michael Urie (Shrinking, Ugly Betty), who stars as James Wilson, says, “My first thought when I read “Does This Murder Make Me Look Gay?!” was, “No, but the title does.” Upon finishing it, I realized I’d just read the funniest murder script of all time and couldn’t pass up the chance to help bring Ted’s queer fantasia to life."

Frankie Grande (Titanique, Summoning Sylvia), who stars as Kelly Raymour & Flanigan, says, “I am beyond honored and thrilled to be a part of ‘Does This Murder Make Me Look Gay?!’ on iHeart’s Outspoken Podcast Network. Playing the fabulous and flatulent Kelly has been an absolute dream, and I can't wait for you all to join us on this wild, glamorous, and oh-so-dramatic ride. Get ready for a sensational blend of mystery, laughs, and a whole lot of fabulousness!”

Douglas Sills (The Gilded Age), who stars as Reginald Divine, said, “Ted’s work is in a genre all its own. It’s ferocious, erudite, and the funniest thing since the Tom Brady roast!”

Ted Malawer, who wrote and directed the series, commented, “‘Does This Murder Make Me Look Gay?!’ is the gayest thing I have ever done—and I’ve watched every episode of NBC’s “Smash” more than twice (RIP). It’s a murder mystery, a hysterical queer romp, and the perfect distraction while you’re stuck in traffic and shoveling down a Chalupa Supreme. Somehow, the most incredible cast agreed to be part of this comedy that tackles important, timely questions such as: ‘Can we still support Ellen?’ and ‘Why do twinks love iced coffee?’ In this day and age, we all must do our part to Make America Gay Again… and this is mine!”

All shows on the Outspoken Podcast Network are distributed by iHeartPodcasts. The network aims to amplify, elevate, and reflect the diversity, richness, and humanity of the voices throughout the LGBTQ+ community.  "Does This Murder Make Me Look Gay?!" will be available on the iHeartRadio app and all major podcast platforms beginning June 17, 2024.

iHeartMedia’s My Cultura Network Announces New Podcast “More Better with Stephanie and Melissa” from Executive Producer Wilmer Valderrama’s Exclusive Podcast Slate

The new weekly comedy series is hosted by “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” stars Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero, launching May 30

Listen to the official trailer for “More Better” HERE

NEW YORK – MAY 23, 2024 – iHeartMedia, the No. 1 podcast publisher according to Podtrac, today announced “More Better with Stephanie and Melissa” a new weekly podcast hosted by “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” stars Stephanie Beatriz and Melissa Fumero. “More Better” is the latest series from actor, producer, entrepreneur and activist Wilmer Valderrama’s exclusive slate with iHeartMedia’s My Cultura Podcast Network, a network dedicated to elevating Latinx voices and stories and of which Valderrama is a stakeholder. The weekly podcast, co-produced by Valderrama’s production company WV Sound, will join previously released podcasts from this partnership, “Essential Voices with Wilmer Valderrama'' and “Date My Abuelita, First!”

Launching May 30, actresses and real-life friends, Beatriz (Encanto, In The Heights) and Fumero (Digman!, Velma), will take listeners along on a personal ride through all aspects of life and share the juiciest cheat codes for adulting, while throwing in some hilarious anecdotes and probably a few embarrassing stories. Beatriz and Fumero will keep it real – and real fun – on their journey to be a little “more better.” Fans can listen to the official trailer HERE

“It’s been a dream being able to collaborate with my dear friends Melissa and Stephanie,” said Valderrama for My Cultura. “‘More Better’ is the next chapter in elevating and expanding the Latino reach in mainstream media. I am beyond grateful for the partnership WV Sound has built with iHeartMedia’s My Cultura Network and that we are continuing to deliver content that uplifts the voices of my community.”

“I am so excited to partner with Wilmer, the whole My Cultura team, and the good folks at iHeart on this new venture of podcasting with one of my favorite people in the whole world, Stephanie Beatriz. I hope each week we can make you smile, laugh, feel seen, and maybe add a little joy to your day”, said Fumero.

“Melissa and I are in a consistent and hilarious ongoing discussion: it’s been a part of my life since we first met almost ten years ago. We can’t wait to let listeners (and hopefully new friends!) come along as we try to get a little more better at… honestly everything! I wouldn’t call either of us an expert at anything really! But we’re willing to laugh at all of our failures and engage in bad grammar for this podcast,” added Beatriz.

The My Cultura Podcast Network was announced in May 2021. In addition to Valderrama’s slate of shows, the network is home to hit podcasts including “Connections with Eva Longoria,” “Princess of South Beach'' starring Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) and Sheryl Rubio (Casa de las Flores), “Wrestling with Freddie” with Freddie Prinze, Jr., “Sisters of the Underground” executive produced by Eva Longoria and Dania Ramirez, “Chiquis and Chill,” “Escuela Secreta,” “Sacred Scandal,” “Overcomfort with Jenicka Lopez,” “Ay Por Favor,”  “Enrique Santos Podcast” and many more.

The My Cultura Podcast Network is distributed by iHeartPodcasts, with all shows available on the iHeartRadio app and everywhere podcasts are heard.
