Taylor Swift to Receive “Tour of the Year” Award for Her Reputation Stadium Tour

NEW YORK, N.Y. – February 27, 2019 – iHeartMedia and Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) announced today that the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards will feature performances by Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, Halsey, Garth Brooks, John Legend and Kacey Musgraves, with more to be announced. The live two-hour event airs Thursday, March 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The sixth annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will also air live on iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide and iHeartRadio, the all-in-one digital music, podcast, on demand and live-streaming radio service.

iHeartMedia also announced that Taylor Swift will receive the iHeartRadio “Tour of the Year” award for her Reputation Stadium Tour. With over 2 million tickets sold in the U.S. and grossing $266 million, it is the highest selling U.S. tour in history by any artist. The Taylor Swift reputation Stadium Tour broke Swift’s own record for highest-grossing tour by a woman. It was critically acclaimed for its cutting-edge, large-scale production value that gave tens of thousands of fans in attendance each night a rare and intimate glimpse at what makes Swift one of today’s greatest performers. The tour, which kicked off in May 2018 in Glendale, AZ, also traveled to Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia and was made into a special concert film for Netflix. Swift will be in attendance to accept her award.

Survey Shares Unique Insight on Today’s Consumers’ Trust of iHeartRadio and the Appeal of Live, Local and Culturally-Relevant Conversation with On-Air Human Personalities

New York, NY – January 07, 2019 – iHeartMedia today released the results from a survey that provides deep insights into why radio is America’s most trusted medium. The survey found iHeartMedia’s focus on live and local programming and the deep, connection on-air personalities have with listeners has led to iHeartRadio being considered the most trusted name in radio and its on-air personalities being more trusted than leading talk personalities in other media.

Research continues to show that 9 out of 10 Americans listen to radio every day and the new survey revealed that 84% of respondents (people) said radio understands what is important to them, a number that is over 20% greater than network and cable television and social media. In addition, 8 out of 10 people feel that radio aligns with their core values, which is number one across all media. 

In addition, leading iHeartMedia personalities were cited as more trustworthy and relatable than top television personalities. People cited these on air personalities’ ability to “make radio more expressive and real than other media” and that these personalities “care about things that matter” to listeners. Furthermore, this trustworthiness leads to greater consideration of brands that advertise on iHeartMedia radio stations.

  • Pitbull was once again the life of the party. Mr. Worldwide performed all of his biggest hits in his hometown of Miami, including "Don't Stop The Party," "Feel This Moment," "Hotel Room Service," "Dame Tu Cosita," "Fireball" before concluding his set with "Give Me Everything."
  • During Steve Aoki’s set, Fiesta Latina performer Becky G joined him on stage to cake one lucky fan in the face.

  • Sonic Leveling: Automatically adjusts song volume to create smooth and consistent listening sessions. Not all tracks are created equal – some are louder or softer than others.  Sonic leveling capabilities eliminate the need to adjust the volume every time a new song comes on. The tech automatically recognizes the volume differential and adjusts it allowing listeners to just sit back and enjoy their favorite tracks.
  • Gapless Playback: Eliminates the gaps between music tracks. On average, there are currently eight seconds of silence between songs on all streaming services that interrupts the music listening experience.
