New York, NY – September 9, 2016 – iHeartMedia announced today it has joined forces with Hispanic radio legend Enrique Santos of Magnus Media to develop an unprecedented Hispanic multi-platform initiative that will leverage iHeartMedia’s reach of more than a quarter of a billion listeners monthly.  This new alliance recognizes the increasing importance and size of the U.S. Hispanic population, both Spanish and English speaking, and builds on Santos’ unparalleled profile within the Latino community as a top-rated on-air talent, trusted source, social and media influencer, content creator and community spokesperson and leader.

Under this new alliance, Santos will magnify his broadcast and digital media presence through iHeartMedia’s industry-leading assets and massive reach. In addition, Santos will become Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of iHeartLatino, iHeartMedia’s new Hispanic platform, which builds on the company’s unique position as the number one Hispanic reach medium in the U.S.  Today, iHeartMedia reaches 91% of the U.S. Hispanic population on a monthly basis — more Hispanics than any other media company, including Hispanic-targeted media companies. Beginning in October, Santos will anchor iHeartMedia’s new Spanish-language station TÚ 94.9, which launched at 12 p.m. Friday, September 9. TÚ 94.9 will be the new home of the top rated Enrique Santos Show on weekday mornings.  In addition to headlining the TÚ 94.9 lineup, Santos’ show will also be syndicated by Premiere Networks on Spanish-speaking stations across the U.S. beginning in October.

Effective immediately, Florida, formerly organized into four regions, will now be comprised of two regions – Central/North Florida and South Florida. Brian Olson will now become President of the South Florida Region including West Palm Beach, Fort Pierce, Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers/Naples and Punta Gorda, and will also manage day-to-day operations in the Miami market, which includes a number of iconic brands and franchises such as Y100, Big 105.9, MEGA 94.9, 103.5 The Beat, 93.9 MIA, 940 WINZ and News Radio 610 WIOD, and produces legendary marquee events including the Y100 Jingle Ball and is home to this year’s iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina. Linda Byrd will now become President of the Central/North Florida Region, which includes Orlando, Tampa/Sarasota, Jacksonville, Brunswick, GA and Melbourne.  Byrd is a 40-year media veteran who has been with iHeartMedia since 1982.  Byrd previously oversaw operations in Orlando, including Real Radio 104.1, XL 106.7, Magic 107.7, 101.1 WJRR, Rumba 100.3, News Radio 102.5 WFLA, 96.9 The Game, 104.5 the Beat, WLOQ Radio, Florida’s News Network, FNN Hispana, Alma 97.1 and Pride Radio Orlando. Justin Schaflander will now become President of the expanded Atlanta Region which now includes Atlanta, Augusta, Macon, Columbus/Albany, Charleston, Columbia, Savannah, Myrtle Beach and Florence.  Schaflander is a 20-year media veteran who joined iHeartMedia in 2007 as Director of Sports for the Atlanta Braves Radio Network. He has overseen all business aspects of iHeartMedia’s Atlanta Region since 2014 and has held senior sales leadership positions with the company. For the fifth consecutive year, iHeartMedia is the official radio and digital partner of the Global Citizen Festival – a free ticketed event on the Great Lawn in Central Park in New York City.

This year both the 2016 iHeartRadio Music Festival and Global Citizens Festival take place on the same weekend, allowing for live music performances and messaging to be shared between the two stages in New York City and Las Vegas.

Each night, the iHeartRadio Music Festival will broadcast live for fans via iHeartMedia radio stations throughout the country across 150 markets. The CW Network will also exclusively livestream both nights of the festival via CWTV.com and The CW App, and then broadcast a two-night television special on Thursday, October 6 and Friday, October 7 from 8 p.m – 10 p.m. EST/PST.
