(October 17th, 2024) – Glass Podcasts, the award-winning audio arm of production powerhouse Glass Entertainment Group (GEG), and iHeartPodcasts today announced the launch of a new groundbreaking podcast series, American Homicide. The “always on” series takes a dynamic approach in telling some of the most iconic and chilling crime stories in America. The podcast re-examines infamous murder cases through a compelling mix of first-person accounts, archival recordings, court footage, immersive audio and a journalistic investigation into each crime. New episodes of American Homicide will premiere free to listeners today, Thursday, October 17th on the iHeartRadio App, Apple Podcasts or wherever listeners get their podcasts. Episodes of American Homicide will made available one week early, ad-free for anyone with an iHeart True Crime+ subscription on Apple Podcasts.
From sea to shining sea, the country known for liberty and the pursuit of happiness is also one of the deadliest places on the globe. American Homicide explores the mysterious and iconic murder cases from locations across America. Whether it’s the spacious skies and vast deserts of New Mexico or the backwaters of the Louisiana bayou, these murders are tethered to their settings. Each week, listeners will be taken on an immersive journey through the crime and investigation accompanied by emotional interviews with those closest to the victims. They will relive the dogged work of the investigators and sit in the courtroom with the prosecutors who brought these killers to bring justice.
The voice of American Homicide is crime investigator and journalist, Sloane Glass. As NewsNation’s National Correspondent, Glass traveled the country covering breaking news. Her reporting has included the break in the Delphi Indiana cold case murders, the George Santos court hearings, as well as the ongoing investigation into the Long Island Serial Killer. During the pandemic, Sloane anchored LIT Entertainment News for Peacock. Sloane has reported on breaking news for FOX-TV, Time Magazine, USA Today, as well as the New York Daily News. Sloane’s work covering crime began when she was a one-man-band reporter in the Bronx. All these experiences have primed her to helm American Homicide, as she brings her talents into the podcast realm.
“When the opportunity to host American Homicide came up, it was a no-brainer,” explained host and journalist, Sloane Glass. “I have spent the better part of my career reporting on true crime.”
“In an overcrowded marketplace, American Homicide has found a way to approach true crime stories in one of the most important—but often overlooked—ways: how it affects the surrounding community. What makes these stories so intriguing is that the location where the crime took place is another character in the story,” said Nancy Glass, CEO of Glass Entertainment Group.
“We are excited to welcome ‘American Homicide’ to our amazing slate of true crime shows with Glass Podcasts,” said Will Pearson, President of iHeartPodcasts. “Time and time again the team has produced gripping true-crime series that listeners instantly become engrossed in and we can’t wait to give them another with ‘American Homicide.’”
American Homicide is co-produced by Glass Podcasts, a division of GEG, and co-produced and distributed by iHeartPodcasts. Nancy Glass, Todd Ganz, Ben Fetterman and Sloane Glass serve as executive producers on the series for Glass Podcasts. Ali Perry is the Executive Producer for iHeartPodcasts.
