iHeartMedia And FOX Announce Nominees For The 2019 “iHeartRadio Music Awards” Airing Live Thursday, March 14, On Fox, From Microsoft Theater In Los Angeles

NEW YORK, N.Y. – January 9, 2019 – iHeartMedia and Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) announced today the nominees for the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards airing Thursday, March 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX, live from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The event also will be broadcast on iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide and iHeartRadio, the all-in-one digital music, podcast, on demand and live-streaming radio service.

Now in its sixth year, the iHeartRadio Music Awards is a star-studded event celebrating the most-played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations and the iHeartRadio app throughout 2018, while also offering a preview of the upcoming hits of 2019. The 2019 telecast will feature live performances from today’s superstar performers, once-in-a-lifetime artist collaborations, celebrity guest appearances and live award presentations in multiple categories. Since the Awards’ inception in 2013, the show has included live performances and appearances by such superstar artists as Bon Jovi, Maroon 5, Camila Cabello, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Big Sean, Rihanna, Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Blake Shelton, Pharrell, Pitbull, Justin Bieber and many others.

Fan voting will determine this year’s Best Fan Army presented by Taco Bell, Best Lyrics, Best Cover Song, Best Music Video, the Social Star Award, Best Solo Breakout, Cutest Musician’s Pet and the first-ever Song That Left Us Shook and Favorite Tour Photographer awards.

Social voting begins today, January 9, and will close on March 7. Fans can vote on Twitter using the appropriate category and nominee hashtags or by visiting iHeartRadio.com/awards.

Ranking as one of the most talked-about television events in social media this past year, the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards garnered over 216 billion social media impressions in the U.S. alone. Among the many winners of the 2018 Awards were Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” for Song of the Year, Taylor Swift for Female Artist of the Year, Ed Sheeran for Male Artist of the Year, Cardi B for Best New Artist, Maroon 5 for Best Duo/Group of the Year and U2 for Best Tour. Chance the Rapper received the most prestigious award of the evening – the 2018 iHeartRadio Innovator Award – for his groundbreaking accomplishments in the music industry and his unsurpassable contributions to social causes. In addition, L'Oréal Paris and iHeartRadio presented Camila Cabello with the first-ever Fangirls Award, which recognizes a female artist who has pushed boundaries with her music and message, while inspiring fans around the globe. And Bon Jovi received the first-ever iHeartRadio Icon Award for their global impact on pop culture, longevity and continued relevance as a touring and radio force with a loyal fan base worldwide.

This year’s awards will feature a broad array of categories, including Female Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Best Duo/Group of the Year and individual winners for Album of the Year in music’s biggest genres, including Pop, Country, Alternative Rock, Rock, Dance, Hip-Hop, R&B, Latin and Regional Mexican formats. NEW YORK, N.Y. and BURBANK, Calif. – January 10, 2018 – iHeartMedia and Turner announced today the nominees for the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the historic, “Fabulous” Forum in Los Angeles. The event will be simulcast live on TBS, TNT and truTV at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT; on iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide; and the iHeartRadio app, the free all-in-one digital music, podcasting and live streaming radio service. For the fifth straight year, the iHeartRadio Music Awards will celebrate the biggest songs and artists heard throughout 2017 across iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide and on the iHeartRadio app. The 2018 telecast will feature live performances from today’s superstar performers, once-in-a-lifetime artist collaborations, celebrity guest appearances and live award presentations. This is Turner Broadcasting’s third year broadcasting the event.

For the first time ever, this year iHeartRadio will present seven awards in the seven nights leading up to the Sunday, March 11 telecast. Each night at 8 p.m. ET, an artist will be presented their award and give an acceptance speech.

In addition to being a compelling celebration of music and artists, the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards will again celebrate the fans, giving iHeartRadio listeners the opportunity to decide winners in several new and established categories. Fan voting will determine this year’s Best Fan Army presented by Taco Bell, Best Lyrics, Best Cover Song, Best Music Video, the Social Star Award, Best Solo Breakout and the first-ever Cutest Musician’s Pet, Best Boy Band and Best Remix awards. In addition, fans will get to vote on social media during the show for winners of the Best Performance and Best Dressed awards, which will be announced immediately after the event.

Social voting for the Social Star Award and Best Fan Army presented by Taco Bell award began through iHeartRadio’s social sites and in the iHeartRadio app on January 9. Social voting for all other categories begin today, January 10 and will close on March 4, with voting for the Social Star Award and the Best Fan Army presented by Taco Bell award continuing through the evening of the awards on March 11. Ranking as one of the most talked-about television events in social media last year, the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards generated 165 billion impressions throughout the promotional period. Performance-Filled Show Will Return for the Third Year to the Historic, ‘Fabulous’ Forum in Los Angeles
 
NEW YORK, N.Y. and BURBANK, CALIF. – June 29, 2017 - iHeartMedia and Turner announced today that the fan-driven iHeartRadio Music Awards will return to the historic, “Fabulous” Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at 8 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (PT). The event will once again be simulcast live on Turner's TBS, TNT and truTV; on iHeartMedia radio stations nationwide; and on iHeartRadio, the all-in-one digital music and live streaming radio service.
 
Now in its fifth year, the iHeartRadio Music Awards is a star-studded event celebrating the most played artists and songs on iHeartRadio stations throughout 2017 and a preview of the upcoming hits of 2018. The show will feature live performances from the biggest artists in music, surprise duets and collaborations, and personal artist stories of how the biggest songs of the year came to life. Since the awards’ inception, the lineup has included live performances and appearances by such superstar artists as Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Big Sean, Rihanna, Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Blake Shelton, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Pitbull, Shakira, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and many others.
 
In addition to celebrating music and artists, the iHeartRadio Music Awards celebrates the fans, millions of whom cast their votes for the winners through social media. NEW YORK, N.Y. and BURBANK, Calif. – The fan-fueled 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards scored tremendous audience growth for Turner's TBS, TNT & truTV, drawing a television audience of 4.1 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery for the live and encore simulcasts on Sunday, March 5. That figure marks a significant increase for the fourth annual special, which grew +39% compared to last year's presentation. The Turner networks' audience growth also extended to targeted demos, as the live simulcast and encores delivered 2.2 million adults 18-49 (+36% vs. 2016) and 1 million adults 18-34 (+22%).

Rapidly becoming one of the most talked-about television events in social media, the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards generated 165 billion social media impressions throughout the promotional period. It also proved its strength on individual platforms like Twitter, where it was the #1 trending topic in the United States and worldwide. In addition, the official hashtag, #iHeartAwards, trended on Twitter in more than 250 cities across the U.S. and in 32 countries Sunday night, with the most talked-about performers being Shawn Mendes, Bruno Mars and Katy Perry. Other trending hashtags included #BestFanArmy, #ShawnMendes and #FifthHarmony. In addition, the iHeartRadio Music Awards won the night with the Nielsen Social Content Rating, finishing first ahead of The Walking Dead.

The 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards celebrated the fans by giving them the chance to vote through social media for their favorite artists in eight categories, including Best Fan Army presented by Taco Bell, Best Lyrics, Best Collaboration, Best Cover Song and Best Song from a Movie, as well as the first-ever Social Star Award, Best Music Video and Best Underground Alternative Band awards.

In addition, for the first time ever the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards announced winners of several categories through artists' Snapchat Stories over the weekend. Artists including Rihanna, The Chainsmokers, Chance The Rapper, Bryson Tiller, twenty one pilots, Green Day, 5 Seconds of Summer, Disturbed, Metallica, Kelsea Ballerini and The Strumbellas gave their 10-second acceptance speeches via iHeartRadio's Snapchat Discover channel and the "iHeartRadio Music Awards Acceptance Speeches" Snapchat Live Story, with select speeches also featured during the live simulcast.
